For the safety and comfort of Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, participants, volunteers, guests, residents and businesses, the following rules and regulations will be strictly enforced.

- The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival is permitted by franchise and area defined by the City of Fernandina Beach Code of Ordinances, Section 14-1. The Fernandina Beach Police Department and Code Enforcement strictly enforce all city ordinances. The following items are prohibited within the Festival area by Ordinances issued by the City of Fernandina Beach:
- Alcoholic beverages (open containers) are not permitted on any public street, highway, right of way, sidewalk, and boardwalk unless an enclosed area is so licensed and designated by the Shrimp Festival Committee. This prohibition includes personal beverages brought to the festival and those purchased inside bars or restaurants.
- The use of roller or in-line skates, skateboards, hoverboards, bicycles or one-wheels are not permitted in the festival area (with the exception of official entrants during the parade). Bicycles should be parked in designated bicycle parking areas.
- Drones are not permitted to launch or land within the festival area unless prior approval is given by the FBPD and the Shrimp Festival Committee. Any drone use must adhere to the FAA guidelines.
- The use of nuisance items such as silly string, poppers, or any water guns is not permitted.
- All activities within the Festival area must comply with Festival Regulations and City Code. All exhibitors, vendors and entertainment in the Festival area must be permitted by the Shrimp Festival Committee. No unauthorized street vendors or entertainers will be allowed. Businesses and residents in the City of Fernandina Beach should continue to comply with City and State licensing codes, unless otherwise permitted by the Shrimp Festival Committee.
- Businesses operating with a license from the Florida Department of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (i.e. restaurants, bars, pubs, etc.) should not deviate from their normal licensed operating procedure and should practice due diligence to ensure their customers do not enter the Festival area with any alcoholic beverages. (see Regulation 1a).
- The Kids Fun Zone is designated as a “Tobacco-Free and Alcohol-Free Zone”. The Kids Fun Zone is a no smoking and no vaping area.
- Pets must be on a leash and in accordance with the City’s leash laws.
- Donation opportunities, such as tip jars or online links, that benefit Nassau County nonprofits are permitted. Literature that is displayed and available for someone to pick up is also permitted. Raffles are not allowed. Active solicitation and active distribution of materials are prohibited.
- Costumed Mascots or Characters must apply and, if approved, have paid for a Sponsor permit for access issued by the Shrimp Festival Committee at least thirty (30) days prior to the first day of the festival. They will be assigned to a specific area and are not allowed to roam (unless otherwise permitted by the Shrimp Festival Committee). No unauthorized costumed mascots or characters will be allowed in the Festival area. Street performers and street entertainers are not allowed. Approval is not guaranteed.
- Photo Release: At this event, photos and videos may be recorded. By attending this event, you may be included in these photos and videos.Your attendance at this event grants your permission to be in these photos or videos, which may be used for marketing or publicity purposes.
- The Shrimp Festival Committee reserves the right to make any changes or additions to these regulations at any time without prior notice for educational, archival or promotional purposes.
