PARKING FOR THE 2012 SHRIMP FESTIVAL

Street Closures: The following street and parking lot closures will be effective the week preceding the Shrimp Festival in order to set up for the festival: City Waterfront Parking Lot B will be closed from Midnight, Wednesday, May 2nd, until Midnight, Sunday, May 6th. City Waterfront Parking Lots A, C, and D and the Library Parking Lot will be closed to unauthorized vehicles from Midnight, Thursday, May 3rd, until Midnight, Sunday, May 6th.

Beginning at 5:00 PM Friday, May 4th, there will be NO PARKING on the streets and public parking lots of the downtown Centre Street Business District (bordered by Ash St. and Alachua St. from 8th Street to the Waterfront.). This area will remain closed to parking until Midnight, Sunday, May 6th, in order to finish clean up and street sweeping. Signs will be posted throughout the downtown area and unauthorized cars will be towed. Thank you for your cooperation.

   Designated Handicapped Park and Ride location.

SATURDAY — 9:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

SUNDAY — 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

• Fernandina Beach High School at 435 Citrona Drive (Proceeds benefit FBHS Football Team)
   Designated Handicapped Park and Ride location.

• Southside Elementary School at 1112 Jasmine Street

• Peck Center at Gum and 10th Street (Proceeds benefit Elm Street Little League)


$10.00 per vehicle.

• Buccaneer Field (Proceeds benefit Amelia Island Youth Soccer and Pop Warner Football)

• Beech Street and 11th Street

$10.00 per car; oversize vehicles extra.

Lots open Friday night, all day Saturday & Sunday

 

Although overnight parking of RV vehicles is prohibited on city streets and public right-of-ways*, during the Shrimp Festival only, there will be two locations for RV parking. DRY CAMPING ONLY is permitted.

* City of Fernandina Beach Code of Ordinances, Section 58-9 and City of Fernandina Beach Land Development Code 7.01.05.

Proceeds to benefit Babe Ruth Baseball.

RV PARKING SITE ONE:

Beech and 13th Street, just outside the Festival area.
Priority will be given to festival vendors. Cost: $75 for the weekend.

Priority will be given to festival vendors. Cost: $75 for the weekend.
DRY CAMPING ONLY.

Cost for non-vendors: $125 for the weekend.

Complementary Parking for Vehicles with Handicap Parking Permits:

Based on space available. Free parking for vehicles with government issued handicap permits (hang tag or license plate) is available at the SE corner lot at S. 4th and Ash Streets and also the portion of North 6th Street behind the posted festival area barricade accessible from Alachua St., one block north of the festival area. Free Shuttle Service for Persons with Disabilities:

Dropoff/pick up for free handicap accessible shuttles is at the SW corner of S. 2nd and Ash Streets. Fernandina Beach High School is the designated parking area for handicapped visitors. Parking is $10 per vehicle; free shuttle bus.

Wheelchair rental will not be available this year.

PLEASE NOTE: Parking service at these lots will be provided by local not-for-profit organizations, which will benefit from the proceeds. The free shuttle bus service will be sponsored by Shrimp Festival Committee. All vehicles parked in attended lots are subject to fee. Thank you for your cooperation and participation!

Drop off and pick up for Tour Buses is at the SW corner of S. 2nd and Ash Streets. Enter Ash Street from 8th Street— traffic is one way west, turn south onto S. 2nd Street for corner bus stop.

The Water Taxi will be running.
