The 2012 Shrimp Festival was a HUGE success! Thanks to all our visitors, vendors and supporters. Photos of this year's events will be posted to this website as soon as they are available from our official photographers.

WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR?

Live Marine Sea Circus &
Shrimp Aquarium Display!

Named a top 20 event for the 10th consecutive
year by the Southeast Tourism Society!

The town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida is the birthplace of the modern, motorized shrimping industry. The origin of our Shrimp Festival was an annual spring shrimp boat race, during which the shrimpers' wives served shrimp dishes. Today our festival still includes shrimp boats and great food, as well as a parade, a pirate invasion, music, entertainment, and fine art, crafts and antiques.

Fireworks fill the sky over the marina after a pirate invasion!
A Best Pirate Contest is held for ladies, men & kids categories.
The Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant is always a dazzling event.
The Pirate Parade starts off the fun Thursday at 6pm. Don't miss it!
A Best-Decorated Boat Contest is part of the boat parade.
Ice-Cream Eating Contests are offered for kids & adults.
The Kids Zone offers rides, face painting and craft activitie
You don't have to be a pirate to enter the best beard contest.
