2016 Shrimp Festival events

The 22nd Annual Shrimp Festival Shrimp Run 5K Run/Walk & Healthy Kids Day, put on by the McArthur YMCA, will be held Saturday, April 30th. The festivities are being held at Main Beach and begin at 8am with the 5K Shrimp Run and 5K Shrimp Walk, the 1 Mile Katie Caples Memorial Run(12 yrs. & younger) at 8:45am and the 1/2 mile Popcorn Shrimp Run (8 yrs. & younger) at 9am. There will be a KidZone childcare available for children 3-9 years during the race. Proceeds from this event will help provide children the opportunities to stay fit and active in our community. The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, developing healthy habits, and gaining the confidence they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.

Healthy Kids Day is a FREE event, open to the entire community. The event is being put on at various YMCA locations in Northeast Florida to promote healthy lifestyles for our youth.  Join in the fun at Main Beach after the run, or come for the games and activities for the entire family!
